Preliminary Information
BOARD OF TRUSTEES - UNITY OF PURPOSE STATEMENT
   
We, the elected Trustees of the Central Unified School District, believe we must trust one another, act with intentionality that demonstrates a goal-oriented focus on student achievement, engage in honest and respectful dialogue with one another, and commit to actions that reflect the highest degree of integrity, transparency and continuous self-improvement. As entrusted public stewards, we will fulfill our role within our organization to work in unity with one another, serve in the best interest of our students and our community, be accountable to the community for the prudent use of District financial resources, establish policies that support the highest standards, and assure safe school environments, all of which combine to help us to fulfill our primary purpose of providing a quality educational experience for all students.

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE WELCOME AT ALL OF OUR MEETINGS.  YOUR PARTICIPATION IS ENCOURAGED AND APPRECIATED.
   
If you wish to address the Board, please fill out a request form, provided on the table near the entrance, and submit it to the Clerk of the Board prior to the meeting. If you wish to speak on an item on the Agenda, please do so when that item is called. If you wish to speak on an item not on the Agenda, you may speak during the Public Comments section of the Agenda. The Board is governed by the Brown Act and may briefly respond to public comments but take no action except on items scheduled on the agenda. A maximum of 20 minutes total is set aside for persons wishing to address the Board. A maximum of three (3) minutes per speaker may be allowed. Speakers are requested to state their name and to address comments to the Board of Trustees. Items requiring lengthy discussion may, at the Board’s discretion, be scheduled as a specific agenda item at future meetings.
   In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to access the meeting room or to otherwise participate in this meeting, including auxiliary aids or services, please contact Sheli Klein at (559) 274-4700, extension 63150. Notification by noon on the Friday preceding the board meeting, or at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, will enable the Governing Board to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
   Any writings or documents that are public records and are provided to a majority of the Governing Board regarding an open session agenda item, including board backup material for open session agenda items, will be made available for public inspection at the District Office, Room 11, and at school sites via the principal, during normal business hours. The District office is located at 5652 W. Gettysburg Avenue, Fresno, CA 93722.
   The District welcomes Spanish and other language speakers to Board meetings. Anyone planning to attend and needing an interpreter should call (559) 274-4700, extension 63150, by noon on the Friday preceding the board meeting, or at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting, so arrangements can be made for an interpreter
   
El Distrito da la bienvenida a las personas que hablen español y otros idiomas a las reuniones de la Mesa Directiva. Si planea asistir y necesita interpretación llame al (559) 274-4700, extensión 63150, antes del mediodía del viernes anterior a la reunión de la Mesa Directiva, o por lo menos 48 horas de antes de la reunión, para poder hacer los arreglos para interpretación. 
   At special board meetings, comments from the public are limited to agenda items. Therefore, if you desire to address the Board on an agenda item, please do so when that agenda item is called. At special board meetings, no time is allocated for public comments on general items pertaining to the school district. Comments will be limited to three (3) minutes, with a total of twenty (20) minutes designated for this portion of the agenda.
   If you have questions on school district issues, please submit them in writing. The appropriate staff member will contact you to answer your questions and provide you with information.
